My childhood ‘hero’ was (and probably still is) Sir David Attenborough, so I grew up watching his nature documentaries. The great Serengeti migration is the wildlife event in my mind, and I’d love to witness a part of it – especially if a hot air balloon ride is included (although never done a ride in one before).
I’m currently researching some of the charity challenges available in the area that incorporate the Serengeti and Mt. Kilimanjaro but probably won’t commit to climbing Africa’s highest mountain until I’ve done Everest Base Camp and Machu Picchu treks. I want to see how those go with the altitude trekking before deciding on this one, as Mt. Kilimanjaro is known as one of the hardest in terms of quick ascent through different altitudes.
